As we were getting ready to welcome Coco (wow... one month ago??) I wanted to share something special with our Roo. Something she could hold on to while I stayed at the hospital... away from her. So I decided to make a small memory box where she could keep memorandums, notes, photos... and other special things she might collect in the future...
I took a found cigar box and made it more personal with stamps and stencils then attached a set of brown Eyelets and String stickers for a secure closure. I included a small letter to her as well as a Polaroid photo we took a day before I headed out to the hospital and a mini Instagram print from a year ago.
I shared the box to her a night before the operation... I was more emotional giving the box and reading a letter to her...
It was a huge milestone for me to say good bye to my one and only child... to welcome not only a new baby but also a brand new big sister in my life as a mother.
