We decided to make the most out of (another) warm weekend and headed out to apple picking on Sunday. I have never been to apple orchard so I was fascinated by the concept. I would have to say... after the fact... apples filled up our bag so quickly it was little anti-climatic. But we loved the day out in the field. Running through an empty corn field maze, trying to pick chestnuts (and finding out that they are VERY spiky) and just enjoying the day away from home.
Lately we have been reading the book "
Miss Rumphius" given as a gift from our dear friend Penelope. It talks about how we all must find a unique way to make the world more beautiful in life. Since we read the book daily (sometimes multiple times a day), I have been thinking about the idea. Today I am reminded that raising these two sunshines is my biggest and the most important contribution to make the world more beautiful.
