03:16:12 [86/365] - Shades of blue...

Changing season with unpredictable weather must be like the reflection of the number of beautiful expression that can be brought to us by the ocean... One day we saw the most crisp horizon... followed by another day with many shades of blues and turquoise...

Here are some snippets of our two recent trips to the water.

Only two days ago..., we had a sunny but chilly day! So we had full-on winter outfits and played at Nakama beach. I loved the landscape here... big stairs made of rocks, riverbed with beautiful white sand that led to a small beach... and a little park nearby a local cemetery...

Also I have to say... that the cemetery on the island feels so different from anywhere else... In some village, I saw a cemetery that is adjacent to an elementary school with flowers for every tomb stone. It makes me feel that the life after is treated just as natural as the kids going to school... like it is simply a part of our growing up process. Ancestors from this island must be so truly cared and loved by their family.

Yesterday on our way to Issou Coffee to pick up more camphor powder for our shop, we stopped at Nagata beach to enjoy some sunshine. The wind was still cool but Roo insisted so we let her play in the water (and somehow I managed to get my entire jeans in the water as well). The long white beach with blue sky... made it feel like we were on the tropical island.
